The Manifesto

The Mess and Madness Manifesto

Firstly you need to know that you are enough, just as you are. You don’t need to be skinnier, smarter, stronger, funnier, or different in any way. You don’t need anyone else to fulfil your life or to tell you that you are good enough. You should never compare yourself to anyone else in any way. This is your life, live it.

If you want to do something or change something about yourself remember that you are already enough. Ask yourself how these changes will help you live the life you want in the way you want to live it. Don’t ever let anyone else tell you what to do and how to live. Don’t let anyone else decide what should be important to you. This is your life and you have your own goals, opinions, and thoughts.

Ask for help and guidance from experts. Seeing advice is always a good idea, you can never learn too much. Read more. Read memoirs. Read fiction. Read poetry. Never stop reading.

Find what inspires and motivates you. Find out what you love spending your time doing and do it. Doing what you love will help you express yourself and the real you will shine out.

No one is perfect and there is no need for you to work to a perfectionist standard. Appreciate what you can do and use your skills to the best of your ability. Share your skills with people that deserve it, people that give back and share their own skills. None of you are alone in this so get together and make things happen.

Don’t waste your time hating yourself, you are unique and important. There is nobody out there like you. If you fail, try again. If a goal is too big or you no longer want to achieve it, change your goal. Life changes and so do your priorities.

Write down your core beliefs and let your values guide you. Set healthy boundaries. Value your time and your creativity. Be punctual and show others that you value their time.

Pursue growth. Colour outside the lines.  Express gratitude. Dream big. Enjoying the little things. Be fearless. Above all else… embrace imperfection.
